Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka has added his voice to the recent abduction of more than 300 male students from the Government School in Kankara, Katsina State. According to him, the abduction of the student is a slap on the President as the crime happened in his home state of Katsina.

In a statement released on Monday, Soyinka said that the abduction is a confirmation that President Buhari is not in charge.

It will be recalled that hours after President Buhari arrived in Daura, his home town for a 7-days private visit, gunmen stormed Government Science Secondary School in Kankara LGA, Katsina State, and kidnapped dozens of students from their dormitories, Information Nigeria reports.

Soyinka in his own reaction condemned the entire saga, describing it as a slap on all Nigerians.

He further called on the government to rescue the students and overhaul the nation’s security architecture to prevent a repeat of such happenings.
