Kano confirms three fresh COVID-19 deaths

The Kano State Ministry of Health has confirmed the death of three new coronavirus patients on Friday night after suffering complications related to the virus.

The news comes after the state confirmed a total of 92 cases on Friday night, according to the report from the Nigeria Center for Disease Control - NCDC.

According to the state's Ministry of Health announcement via its verified Twitter handle, the death toll in Kano has now risen to eight while the number of confirmed infections has risen to 311.

“As at 11:25 pm 1st May 2020, 92 new cases of COVID-19 cases confirmed. Total confirmed cases in Kano State are now 311.

“Three additional COVID-19 deaths were recorded. Total COVID-19 deaths are now eight,” the state's Ministry of Health tweeted.

Kano ranks second behind Lagos State who has a total of 1006 coronavirus cases, as at Friday night.

There are now at least 2170 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria with a total of 68 deaths and 351 recoveries, according to the NCDC.
