Kadaria Ahmed speaks on what FG did that gave rise to Amotekun

Journalist Kadaria Ahmed has stated that the Federal Government's mistake of allowing law enforcement outside traditional constituted authority ked to the establishment of Operation Amotekun.

She made this known following the statement by the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, who described the security outfit launched by governors of the Southwest as illegal.

The AGF's statement led to a debate on social media with Nigerians wondering why the Hisbah Police in the north is not viewed by the Federal Government in the same light as Amotekun.

Reacting to the debate, Kadaria Ahmed tweeted:

"On the issue of #Amotekun the minute the FG allowed law enforcement outside traditional constituted authority, they lost the right to make a distinction between the #Hisbahs and the #Amotekuns.

"It is a question of potato and potatoe. You cannot make these sorts of distinctions. It is why we should never have allowed it in the first place, the minute you open the door, it keeps widening #Amotekun.

"The FG can use this as an opportunity to ban ALL vigilante groups, if they don't the S.W should just get their state houses of assembly to institutionalise #Amotekun by state & then set up an apparatus for cooperation across state lines to deal with the issue of regionality".
