Juventus star tests positive for coronavirus

Italian giants, Juventus have confirmed that their first team player Daniele Rugani has tested positive for coronavirus.

The defender was part of the squad that took part in the 2-0 win against Inter, which was played behind closed doors due to COVID-19 outbreak.

A statement from the club read: "The footballer Daniele Rugani has tested positive for Coronavirus-COVID-19 and is currently asymptomatic.

"Juventus Football Club is currently activating all the isolation procedures required by law, including the census of those who have had contact with him."

Rugani, a four-time Serie A winner, posted a photo on Twitter following Juventus' win over Inter, showing the Italian international celebrating with his team-mates in the dressing room.

Inter also made the following statement on Wednesday: "Following Juventus FC's announcement that their player Daniele Rugani has tested positive for COVID-19, FC Internazionale announce that all competitive activities have been suspended until further notice.

"The Club is currently taking steps to put all the necessary procedures into place."

Italy has been put on lockdown this week due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and the number of dead nationally has rise.
