A former vice president of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu has sparked conversations on social media after been sentenced to 10 years in prison after being found guilty of organ trafficking.

The Central Criminal Court, Old Bailey, UK, handed down the verdict on Friday, May 5.

Many people have expressed excitement since the news of their imprisonment spread because they think justice has finally been done.

Others agreed, arguing that the former vice president should have gotten more sentence than the 10 years because he can complete that term in prison and return to Nigeria to run for president.

ideniyor: "If he finishes his sentence, he can’t contest for another ten years after I think."

ManjaroKilly: "Presidential pardon na your mate?"

prettycachy: "If it was in Nigeria, he will use security forces to silence the journalist who broke the news. He will ask us to GO TO COURT. He would have terminated the life of that guy if and once the guy reported him. I hope he enjoys his stay in prison. Thank you @10DowningStreet for this."

definesaraf: "I hope those who need to learn will do now. It is high time we focused on improving our health sector in Nigeria. Our leaders should stop wasting our resources on personal gains."

Jeffanfield: "As long as he enjoys the infrastructural amenities that gives him joy and pleasure in the UK, he should also enjoy the prison too. Posterity catching up with him that's nice. Check my pin tweet"
