Judges of Kano governorship election tribunal absent in court as they opt to deliver judgement via zoom

Report indicate that the judges at the Kano state Election Petition Tribunal delivered judgement of the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) challenging the victory of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) via Zoom.

The Governorship election petition tribunal scheduled Wednesday, September 20, to deliver judgment in the case between the APC candidate and the NNPP.

Upon arrival to the court, it was gathered that security personnel were present and allowed only 50 persons including journalists.

Some lawyers were reportedly locked out of the tribunal. However, those present during the delivering of the judgement were barred from using their phones or cameras.

According to reports, the judgment commenced before 10am, and Justice Oluyemi Akintan-Osadebay, Chairman of the three-member panel, delivered the judgement via Zoom.
