Jubilation on the streets of Abia as Labour Party's Alex Otti wins governorship election

The Labour Party governorship candidate, Alex Otti was on Wednesday March 22, declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

According to reports, Otti polled a total of 172,386 votes to defeat his closest contender Mr Ahiwe of the Peoples Democratic Party, who garnered a total of 8,8174 votes to come a distant second.

As a result of his victory, a huge celebration broke out on the streets of Abia state after INEC declared Alex Otti of the Labour Party winner of the governorship election.

Many expressed their joy and excitement to Otti's victory as they explained that their happiness was to show that their votes made a difference.

Prior to the declaration, INEC on Monday, suspended the collation of governorship results from the council area over an alleged attack on its officials and irregularities.
