Jubilation as President Tinubu makes 2 fresh appointments

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mojoyinoluwa Dekalu-Thomas as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Electricity Liability Management Company (NELMCO) for four years.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the president's spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, and tweeted by the presidency on Friday evening, August 25.

Earlier, Dekalu-Thomas served as the acting MD/CEO of NELMCO. Following the expiration of the tenure of the pioneer MD/CEO of NELMCO Adebayo Fagbemi, which ended on May 8, 2023.

This simply means that the interim role she previously held and the new substantive position has created a new vacancy in the previous office of the executive director of Liability Management.

Therefore, President Tinubu subsequently appointed Dimla Joel Nchinney as the new substantive executive director of liability management in NELMCO.

How President Tinubu made 4 appointments in a week

Ngelale further added that the President directed that their appointments take immediate effect.

The appointment will be the second of its kind that President Tinubu will make within a week.

On Thursday, President Tinubu appointed Engr. Bisoye Coker-Odusote as the Acting Director-General/CEO of NIMC, and Yusuf Buba Yakub as the Director/CEO of DTAC.

The appointment came three days after he constituted his cabinet with 45 ministers, who were earlier screened and confirmed by the Senate.
