Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has denied that his former principal has endorsed Peter Obi's presidential ambition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
A viral photo on social media showing Jonathan and Obi had sparked speculations that the former president had aligned with Obi's ambition.
The photos were shared by an Obi supporter, Serah Ibrahim, with a caption that suggested an alliance between the two politicians.
She wrote, "No sleeping tonight. Get your calculators. And DM me for blood pressure machine."
However, Omokri clarified that the photo was taken at a special reception held in honour of Jonathan. He said the photo with Obi was taken when Jonathan was going round to greet the guests, stressing that it has nothing to do with endorsement or an alliance.

He shared, "I have been inundated with enquiries about this. The public should be informed that this was not some recent or special meeting, and there is no announcement to be made now or in the future.
"This photo was taken in March 2025 at the Abuja home of Mr. Robert Azibola, who was holding a reception for former President Goodluck Jonathan, who had just won the 2025 Sunhak Peace Award bestowed annually by the Sunhak Peace Prize Foundation in Seoul, South Korea.
"Mr. Peter Obi was invited, like many other guests. He was not a special guest, and preference was not given to him or any other attendee. On that occasion, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan shook hands with almost all guests.
"This photo does not signal any endorsement, alignment of forces, or anything political.
"It is just a cordial moment at a social event caught on camera."
Not pleased with Omokri, Serah Ibrahim fired back, accusing him of propaganda and blackmail.
She wrote, "Calvary Greetings to you Reno Omokri,
"You constantly screenshot my posts just to parade them on your page with your own explanations, a clear sign of a deranged jobless stalker.
"So since we all know as confirmed by you, that you feed on content creation, let me assist your daily meal for the week.
"While I am very much elated with your tears on my post, I want to set the record straight.
'As much as you’re notoriously known for lies and blackmail, one would expect that with old age should come the wisdom to at least do a simple Google search.
"Your propagandists and high blood pressure obsession with Peter Obi has you so rattled that even a simple, publicly available photo, posted by media and available online, adds to your insanity, forcing you to cook up your own desperate captions not even present in the post you’re quoting.
"I mean, if not for insanity, how can you cook up a caption in your head and then respond to the caption you cooked up in your head and then lie about Peter Obi’s role.
"While I know that you have never done anything important in life apart from actually begging on your knees to feed yourself, other people have.
"Take for instance, Peter Obi who was not just a guest but THE CHAIRMAN of this event hosted by Jonathan himself.
CHAIRMAN.
"I just had to clarify that because your third paragraph looked like a cry for help coming from a camp of tears and pain of being old and unachieved.
"While I feel sorry that you haven’t achieved anything at 51, and sadly you have since decades ago left the age limit for foolery, I will like to advise that it isn’t too late to find something doing.
GET A JOB.
"This task of online thuggery, you’re too old for it. It is time you stop being a child and act like a man, because if you were one, I am sure none of your wives would have left you.
"Google all the things Peter Obi had already achieved way before 51 and Google yours. Don’t hate greatness, learn from it.
"I wish you love and light grandpa, send me your cv, let me see what I can do."
