A classroom teacher was abducted by unknown gunmen in the Auyo Local Government Area of Jigawa State over the weekend.

The abductee, Abdullahi Sani, 35, son of a lawmaker, was said to be a teacher in an Arabic secondary school in Birniwa, The Nations reports.

Sources said heavily armed gunmen stormed the teacher’s residence at Shagari Quarters and abducted him.

Police spokesperson Abdu Jinjiri confirmed the incident yesterday, saying police have started investigating.

The police said the incident happened around 2:00 a.m midnight at Hadejia town, and  the gunmen went away with the victim’s phone.
