JUST IN: Osun govt dumps Aregbesola's educational policies

The government of Osun State has dumped almost all the educational policies introduced by ex-governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, according to an announcement made on Monday.

Immediate past governor, Aregbesola, before his succession, began controversial single school uniform system in 2013.

Ogbeni Rauf also proposed single-sex school system across the state amidst other policies.

According to reports, the incumbent governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, after considering recommendations of the education committee constituted, consented to the reversal of these policies.

The state's Commissioner for Information and Civic Engagement, Mrs Funke Egbemode, at the conclusion of the State Executive Council meeting, told journalists that the council has made a u-turn on Aregbesola's policies.

She said that the "Council has agreed to revert to different school uniforms for individual schools with their old names restored just as the government also restored the 6-3-3-4 education system."
