In a rare show of love and support, the 33 Oyo APC women leaders led by Mrs Tinuade Adigun, the Oyo State APC women leader, have thrown their weights behind Oloye Saheed Oladele, a guber aspirant in the party, while adorning the same Ankara with him.
Oloye Saheed Oladele hosted the women leaders at the Oyo State APC Secretariat, Oke Ado, Ibadan.
Oloye Oladele thanked the women leaders across the 33 local governments of Oyo State for honouring his invitation.
He lauded them for their unwavering efforts aimed at uniting the party.
He stated that women are the instruments being used by politicians when seeking votes but are not adequately rewarded when they get to government.
He said that the fear of God in him would not allow him to use and dump them.
Professor Oluwasegun Adekunle, former Special Adviser on Agriculture to late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi, who was on Oloye Oladele’s entourage, extolled Baàmẹ̀kọ́’s virtues of integrity and fear of God, assuring the women leaders that their support to him would not be in vain.
Mrs Tinu Adigun, Oyo APC woman leader, on behalf of the women leaders, praised Oloye Oladele’s humility.
She stated that their meeting with him was not a political one but a meeting between a son and his mothers.
The uniformed Ankara fabric sent to Oloye Oladele ahead of the meeting was a confirmation of the unalloyed support the women leaders are ready to extend to Baàmẹ̀kọ́.
Some of the members narrated how they woke up as early as 4am from far places like Kishi and other places for the meeting.
The state woman leader also narrated how she had to travel very early in the morning from Ilawe Ekiti to Ibadan because of her love for Baàmẹ̀kọ́.
Also, a woman leader from Egbeda local government, Mrs Ronke Adedeji, wife of Oniperindo of Iperindo, who was asked to speak on behalf of other women leaders, said they are ready to work for Baàmẹ̀kọ́.
She prayed that Oloye Oladele would emerge as the party’s candidate as his guber tenure would bring growth and development to Oyo State.
The Baàmẹ̀kọ́ of Ibadanland was accompanied to the meeting by Oloriẹbi Akeem Ajimobi, younger brother of late Governor Ajimobi; Mrs Oluwatoyin Oluranti, Coordinator, United States Support Group for Saheed Oladele; Maroof Asudemade, Director of Media and Publicity, Saheed Oladele Support Foundation; Pastor Feyisetan Akintayo, President of Grassroots Pastors Mobilization of Nigeria and other SOSF members like Pastor Kunle Balogun, Mrs Zainab Mabini-Adesanya, Mr Shamsudeen Popoola (SAMPO), Mr Opeyemi Adesokan (Imole Ido) and Mrs Feyisetan Hamzaah.
