'It is just so humbling' - 'Humble' Rufai Oseni says after picking up illustrious award

Arise TV Morning Show host, Rufai Oseni has described co-hosts Dr. Reuben Abati and Ayo Mario-Ese as the "greatest colleague" after scooping an award at the 2023 edition of the Africa Illustrious Award over the weekend.

Mr Oseni won the award for Journalist of the Year while Arise TV was adjudged the Morning Show of the Year.

He dedicated the award to the team of the morning show saying "It is just so humbling".

"It is just so humbling and this is also dedicated to the Arise Morning Show team and two of the greatest colleagues to ever work within the whole wild world. We are just so humbled and most importantly we thank our viewers who watch us every time. We thank you so much," he said.

"This is a big learning classroom, when I come here every morning, I come with a big and open mind to learn and I still get fed with great resources."

The 2023 edition of the Africa Illustrious Award recognized another set of trailblazers across Africa, in various works of life, whose works are moving their communities forward.

The event was held on October 13, 2023, at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
