The Deputy National chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) North West, Mr Salihu Lukman has stated that the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is taking critical national decisions with only a selected few, and that is why the country is in a severe economic mess today.

In an interview on Channels TV's 'Politics Today', Lukman revealed that the president only performed well the first two weeks after assuming office. Since then, everything has gone down hill.

According to him, it is essential for the president to go back to the drawing board to ensure that the opinions of stakeholders and more people in governance are considered when he is making key decisions for the country.

Lukman said: "I raised the issue of what I call disturbing signals largely because I believe first two weeks of assumption of office by Asiwaju, he started very well and his approval ratings went very high.

"Everybody, all of us became very confident that he was really tackling the issues in the way they should be tackled. Unfortunately, after two weeks, three weeks down the line, to this period we have a drop in the tempo and momentum of how issues were handled.

"Now the government is becoming isolated, and isolated decisions are being made. And I think these are some of the major challenges.

"All the issues raised about inflation, increase in prices of petroleum products, its because it appears that we have taken isolated decisions."
