President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) has enlisted the help of the Nigerian Airforce in the battle against terrorism.

According to a tweet from the Presidency via its twitter handle, Buhari will be deploying the Airforce to support the Nigerian Army in combating bandits, kidnappers & cattle rustlers in the forest area where the insurgents are located.

The tweet read: "Pres. @MBuhari has authorized the deployment of @NigAirForce to support troops & policemen deployed to fight bandits, kidnappers & cattle rustlers in the forest area bordering Kaduna, Niger, and Zamfara to fight bandits. NAF will in line with this set up refueling facilities in Minna."

In addition, the Nigerian Airforce is expected to set up its refueling station in Niger State to offer support.

However, the announcement did not seem to go down well with Nigerians as they accused the Government of failing to do so discreetly.

Many felt that such information was not press-worthy at all, knowing how evasive the fight with insecurity has been.
