Ihedioha revokes and renames Jacob Zuma street in Imo State

Governor Emeka Ihedioha has renamed the Jacob Zuma road in Owerri, the Imo State capital, to Chief Mbazuluike Amaechi road.

The rechristening took places today as a way of marking the 90th birthday of Chief Amaechi.

According to Ihedioha, the contribution to nation development done by Amaechi should not be ignored

A statement reads in part:

“Dr Amaechi is an icon, one of the founding fathers of the nation, whose contributions to nationhood should not be overlooked.

“Amaechi remains an inspiration, who stood and defended those principles that remain valuable to nation building”.

The road was formerly named after former South African President, Jacob Zuma, by the immediate past governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha.
