'Ighalo was right' — Fans conclude after Ronaldo's Al-Nassr crash out of Saudi Super Cup

Cristiano Ronaldo is yet score for Al-Nassr after two matches Cristiano Ronaldo is yet score for Al-Nassr after two matches

Some Nigerian football fans have backed Odion Ighalo's claim concerning the competitive nature of the Saudi Pro League.

Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr side bowed out of the Saudi Super Cup following their 3-1 defeat to Al-Ittihad at the King Fahd International Stadium on Thursday night.

The five-Ballon d'Or winner who completed his big-money to Al-Nassr earlier this month is yet to find his scoring boots after two games.

Many fans believe Ronaldo's difficult start to life in the Gulf region affirms Odion Ighalo's recent comment prior to his official debut for his new club.

The Super Eagles striker in an interview with Nigerian Journalist Oma Okatugba described the Saudi Pro League as competitive and not easy as many fans believe.

Some fans after Al-Nassr's ouster last night took to social media to share the same sentiment.

Check out some reactions from fans below:

_@omaakatugba: Ighalo was right after all.

_@benkofsportsmanagement: I have played in Asia and yes football is difficult for foreigners because the leagues are much more demanding than in Europe.

_@ansly.vibes: The problem with you Ronaldo fanboys is that you all are too emotional, in this interview Ighalo said that the Saudi league is not easy as people claim it is, that you have to work hard and that's what Oma is referring to as "Ighalo was right after all"you all should analyze with reasons not emotions.

_@officialbrightbos: Goat no fit perform for Saudi league ooo???? ????

_@ayinde_fr99:I swear I knew it. They made mistake letting Aboubakar go

_@James Veni: What else to expect, path*tic as ever, I'd be complimenting you if I say you are the top-notch definition of u*professionalism, I am not surprised, you are not even a t*p journalist, you are just fortunate not that you are good..keep riding on that.

Ronaldo will return to action when Al-Nassr take on Al Fateh in the Saudi Pro League on Friday, February 3.
