Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife, has cautioned lawmakers to avoid evil habits such as lying, corruption, and other vices that could lead to the country's destruction.

On Sunday, amid ceremonies commemorating the completion of the 2021 World Ifa Festival, Ooni Ogunwusi issued the warning.

The monarch, who referred to Ifa as God's voice, insisted that its decrees be followed and that sacrifices be made to ward off calamities as Orunmila ordered.

“In 2019, Ifa predicted a pandemic, but the rest of the world paid little or no heed, dismissing it as idol worshiping,” he claims. The COVID-19, on the other hand, arrived to demonstrate that this was correct. We were thankfully protected from the onslaught of wickedness.

“Last year, Ifa predicted multiple agitations like the ones we're seeing today across the country; we've prayed and will continue to pray.

“In the OseKaran corpus, Ifa demonstrated that the majority of our problems are the result of desperation on the part of politicians. Ifa strongly told them to stop being evil or face Olodumare's wrath.

“Above all, Orunmila stated that there will be no war, that all of the issues we have as a country will be over soon, and that we will emerge prosperously.”

Ooni Ogunwusi also urged the Yoruba traditional rulers to continue to promote the famous Yoruba culture and traditions through festivals and other ancient activities, in order to ensure the heritage's preservation for future generations.
