If you want to protest like Nepal, start from your region - Reno Omokri

Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has issued a word of advice to those calling for a protest in Nigeria, like the type witnessed in Nepal, where burning and looting were the order of the day.

According to him, Lagos should not be the centre of the protest because other states also exist in the country/

This was as he revealed reasons why Lagos is prosperous, countering the claims that atribute the prosperity to the status of federal capital territory, which it once possesed.

He wrote on Facebook, "Is Lagos Prosperous Because It Was Once Nigeria's Capital?

"When on Thursday, December 12, 1991, General Babangida actualised the movement of the capital of Nigeria from Lagos to Abuja, Lagos had no:
Blue, Red, or Green Line metro railway
BRT Bus lane
Lekki Free Trade Zone
Eko Atlantic City
Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge
Local Council Development Areas
Millennium schools
Alausa Independent Power Plant (10.4 Mw)
Akute Independent Power Plant (12.55Mw)
Lagos Island 1 & 2 Independent Power Plant (10Mw)
Mainland Independent Power Plant (8.8Mw)
Lekki Peninsula Integrated Power Project (6Mw)
Island IPP located in Marina (10MW)

"The Lagos State Government built all these and other projects with its private sector partners, resulting in Lagos's economy being 12 times bigger than in 1991 when it stopped being Nigeria's capital.

"Lagos State is what it is today, not because it was once Nigeria's capital. Abuja has been Nigeria's capital for 34 years. Why is it not now more developed than Lagos?

"Your states are what they are because you had leaders, like Peter Obi, who built breweries for his people, while Lagos was building new cities, ports, schools, and power projects for its people.

"Lagos is what it is because of its visionary leaders. Therefore, if you want to protest like Nepali youths, then #StartFromYourStateofOrigin—not Lagos."
