Controversial social media influencer Martins Otse who is better known as VeryDarkMan, chose not to speak during his hearing at the National Assembly on Monday, September 29.
VeryDarkMan was supposed to testify before the House of Representatives Joint Committee on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions regarding bribery allegations involving officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Haliru Nababa, the controller-general of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).
However, he decided not to speak once it became apparent that Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, and the Chairman of the EFCC, Ola Olukoyode, were being represented by others.
"I will not say anything until Bobrisky and the EFCC chairman are present. If I speak, let me die," he stated in a video that went viral.
According to The Cable, the Chairman of the EFCC, Ola Olukoyode, is being represented at the hearing by Michael Nzekwe, his chief of staff, while Bobrisky was represented by Avwerosuoghene Omuvwie, his lawyer.
It is worth noting that VeryDarkMan had shared an audio recording of Bobrisky claiming to have bribed some EFCC officials with N15 million to have a money laundering charge dropped against her.
On Thursday, the lower legislative chamber decided to investigate the allegations against the anti-graft agency and the NCoS.
