The sit-at-home order earlier scheduled for Monday, August 9, 2021 across the South East has been suspended.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) withdrew its directive as a result of the ongoing National Examination Council (NECO) exams for the junior secondary schools.

This was stated in a statement released by the younger brother of the IPOB leader, Kanunta Kanu, the Sun said.

According to Kanunta, in order not to cause academic interference at the just began NECO exams, the group have decided to suspend the sit-at-home order to allow the students participate in their exams.

He noted that the sit-at-home order has so far not been cancelled and will commence at a later date.

“IPOB has listened to pleas from well-meaning individuals and groups within and outside Biafra land that we consider the fate of our children who will be involved in the NECO Exam and based on that, we decided to shift grounds over the sit-at-home order.

As a group fighting for the liberation of her people from oppression from her enemies, we realized that it would amount to assisting the said enemies to inflict more harm on our children if we do not suspend the sit-at-home order to allow Biafra students take their exams,” the statement read.
