IPOB/ESN members dealt huge blow as soldiers invade Lilu Forest in Anambra

The Nigerian Army confirmed it has dislodged a notorious stronghold of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its affiliate the Eastern Security Network (ESN) at Lilu Forest in Ihiala local government area of Anambra state.

Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu said in a statement on Tuesday, January 18, 2021, that the operation was conducted in the early hours of Monday, January 17.

He said the operation led to gunfire after which the gunmen were neutralized.

Weapons recovered include 10 Pump Action Shotguns, two locally fabricated guns, One Revolver pistol, rounds of 7.62 mm special, live cartridges, machetes and IPOB flags.
