INEC shifts Enugu East Senatorial Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has shifted the conduct of senatorial election in Enugu East following the death of the Labour Party LP candidate.

The election would now hold alongside the governorship polls on March 11.

Prior to the general elections, some areas of Eastern Nigeria have been experiencing post election violence.

Most affected states are Imo, Anambra and Enugu.

The Indigenous Peoples Of Biafra (IPOB) has been in the forefront of calling for a sit at home order in disobedience to the federal government.
