INEC deletes 2.7 million double registrants

Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Yakubu Mahmood has revealed that 2.7 million double registrations has been removed from the last Continuous Voters Registration exercise.

On Tuesday October 11, Yakubu said at the National Endowment for Democracy event in Washington DC in the United States, Yakubu that this move was carried out by the commission.

According to him, the new Permanent Voter Cards will be made available in November, 2022.

He disclosed that about 50% of the new PVCs are ready although they are yet to be distributed to collection centres.
