I will rather die working for this country than fail - Peter Obi tells Okey Bakassi in touching video

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party has promised to give his best to Nigerians if he is elected president in the February 25 presidential elections.

The former Anambra governor made the pledge as he appeared at a recent event hosted by the party.

With the audience made largely of young Nigerians, Obi noted that Nigerians are running for the elections through him. He stressed that he "will rather die working for this country than fail them."

"When voting for Peter Obi, you are voting for yourself. If you think you are voting for Peter Obi, then you expect Peter Obi to defend your vote. I told the youth that I met in Abuja two days ago that you are running for this election through me."

"And I tell people who are close to me every day, my wife know that - How can I disappoint these people who have voted for me if not asking God to punish me."

"If they give me the opportunity, I will rather die working for this country than fail them."

The Presidential and National Assembly election is slated for Saturday, February 25.
