Nollywood actor Kunle Afod has paid an emotional visit to veteran Yoruba actor Yomi King, popularly known as Baba Opebe, following concerns from fans who had been unable to reach him.
Afod shared a video of the visit on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, revealing that he decided to locate the veteran actor after several people contacted him over their inability to reach Baba Opebe.
According to Afod, the actor’s phone had stopped connecting, leaving many people worried about his whereabouts.
The journey to Baba Opebe’s residence was reportedly challenging, with Afod describing the location as extremely remote.
During the visit, Baba Opebe addressed speculation surrounding his prolonged absence from the public, revealing that he had been battling ill health since last year.
“I have been sick since last year. The doctor said I have low blood in my system. I was given four pints of blood. Some people said I went into hiding because I do not want people to know about my condition. My children are taking care of me,” he said.
The veteran actor disclosed that he had visited several hospitals over the past year while receiving treatment for his condition.
He also expressed appreciation to fellow Nollywood actor Mr Latin for checking on him and providing support during his health challenges.
Afod, who appeared visibly emotional during the visit, donated ₦100,000 to Baba Opebe and appealed to Nigerians to support the veteran actor financially, medically and spiritually.
