Ibrahim El-Rufai, a son of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, has said he was an atheist since he was eight years old.
He said he decided to lose believe in God since the death of his sister and brother, which he blamed God for.
He said in a viral video, "I've been an atheist since I was eight years old, even before God decided to give my older sister a brain disease that killed her in the prime of her life or when God decided to take my brother in a car crash.
"I'm generally too smart to be religious. How can I think I can reason with people that don't think evolution is real and prove it? They don't think dinosaurs are real."
El-Rufai's son had earlier slammed Arewa people and the religious northern Nigeria, saying they disgust him.
In a video trending on social media, Ibrahim dissociated himself from their ways and made it clear that he has no interest in becoming a politician.
He also lamented the fake love they love to display in public, while their actions speak otherwise.
He said, "In conclusion, Arewa people, traditional people, religious north, please leave my page. We do not share the same values, and you disgust me. The only thing we probably agree on is Palestine. Even then, the only reason you care is because those people are Muslims, not because they are human."
El-Rufai's son also slammed those criticising him for braiding his hair, wearing earrings, and a nose ring.
Further speaking, he said, "I don't want to be a politician. Every time my friend says I should be a politician, it pisses me off. I don't want to. I f00king hate it. I don't want to be one of your socialites who pulls up to your stupid weddings where everyone fakes that they like each other."
