I support Twitter ban - Ned Nwoko

Billionaire businessman and husband of actress Regina Daniels, Ned Nwoko has revealed his stand on the Twitter suspension.

According to him, he supports the government's decision to suspend the social media platform Twitter in the country.

He noted that in every country, it is necessary for there to be regulations and control of foreign platforms.

Ned Nwoko said this while speaking at a June 12 lecture organised by the Correspondents Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Abuja Council.

He said;

"On the current issue with Twitter in Nigeria, I wholeheartedly support the position of the Federal Government.

“There should be a measure of control and regulation for social media in countries where they have a presence."

He also noted that social media platforms must pay taxes to governments and provide employment to people in countries they operate.
