British-Zimbabwean cleric and founder of the Goodnews church, Uebert Angel has thrown his support behind the Late Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, the founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN).

He simply said "I stand with Prophet TB Joshua" in a post on his Instagram page.

The late prophet has come under fire after the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) screened a 150-minute-long investigative report, titled “Disciples: The Cult of TB Joshua,” which featured testimonies from former disciples and church workers, accusing the late prophet of manipulation and physical abuse, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja, on Monday evening.

The controversial documentary has generated mixed reactions since it aired on YouTube on Monday, January 8.

Uebert Angel is fond of the late preacher and described him as “a General who set many things in place that generations will continue to copy” after his demise in 2021.

Popularly known as TB Joshua, he died on Saturday, June 5 from an undisclosed cause

Meanwhile, a public affairs analyst and member of the church, Mr Dare Adejumo, on Tuesday, faulted the BBC documentary the late preacher.

He described the documentary as unfounded, noting that the characters interviewed in the report were unknown to the church.

In a statement he personally signed, Adejumo said with the report, the BBC “descended into fictional narratives and propaganda”.

“BBC has compromised these lofty principles by descending into fictional narratives and propaganda, thus turning itself into a weapon for a hatchet job as gangsters in the gab of journalism with a destructive ulterior motive for personal gains against a perceived enemy.
