'I no dey do una Instagram style’ – Burna Boy knocks fans for asking him to do giveaway

Grammy award-winning singer Burna Boy has said that he doesn't participate in the internet giveaway practice that has been made popular by his celebrity colleagues.

The singer revealed this in an Instagram Live session on Thursday, March 21.

The self-acclaimed African Giant claimed that he helps people who genuinely need it adding that individuals who benefit from his generosity do not use the internet.

He said: “Me I nor dey do all these una Instagram style. I do giveaways to places that really matters, to people that really need it, and most of them are not on the internet”

Giveaways on social media have become a huge part of Nigeria's entertainment ecosystem. It is seen as a way to manage the relationship between artists and fans and also a way for celebrities to repay the loyalty of fans.

Artists known for regular giveaways include Mr. P of Psquare fame, Iyanya, Don Jazzy, and Davido.

Recall that Davido gave N1 million to a driver in 2023 for being a huge fan.
