Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo has revealed that he is yet to make a decision on his international future, despite reports linking him to the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The former Fulham defender was born in England to Nigerian parents.
Although he represented England at the U-16 and U-17 levels, the 27-year-old remains eligible to play for the Super Eagles at the senior level, in accordance with FIFA regulations.
Reports have surfaced suggesting that Adarabioyo declined an invitation to represent Nigeria.
However, the former Manchester City player refuted these claims, stating that he has never turned down an opportunity to play for the Super Eagles.
“I never turned down Nigeria, and I have never had a conversation about going to Nigeria,” Adarabioyo told Nigerian journalist Oma Akatugba after Chelsea’s UEFA Europa Conference League final victory over Real Betis.
“At the point last season, when there were discussions, I said I wanted to focus on club football. I was in my final year at Fulham and now, in my first season at Chelsea, I needed to concentrate.
“Now is the time I need to make a decision on my international future.”
