Presidential adviser Daniel Bwala has stated that at no time did he call President Bola Tinubu a drug lord.
According to Bwala, he also never stated that even if Tinubu is given 30 years, he will never know how to fix Nigeria's problems.
In an interview, Bwala stated that gus words were misconstrued by the media and propagated by the Obidient Movement, who are supporters of former presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
He said, "I have never in my life addressed Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a drug lord, in fact, I have never believed in it."
When told that videos of him making such a statement exist, he said, "No, no, no, if you have it here, we can shut the interview, and you produce it. There is a second one again, you will see it on social media where they say Bwala said if you give Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu 30 years, nothing will happen. Again, it is the laziness associated with the media in Nigeria. It was misquoted, and I have the video now.... It was on the 25th of December 2023, when I was critiquing the policy of the Government
"It was on Channels...where I was critiquing the policy where I said when a policy is fundamentally flawed, 30 years will not correct it but you know Obidients, they are experts in social media, they now said Bwala said even if you give Tinubu 30 years....and that thing has moved and has been quoted and misquoted by individuals.
"One of the dangers now is that mainstream media depends on social media for information. I know some mainstream media houses, not all of them, who take unverified information from social media and report it and then people run to town with it."
