A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Joe Igbokwe, has expressed displeasure at the demolition of some illegal structures at the Trade Fair Complex in Lagos.

Also demolished were defective structures and those built on road setbacks and drainage areas.

Present during the exercise included members of the Lagos State Urban Development, Ministry of Physical Planning, Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), Lagos State Urban Renewal Agency (LASURA), Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA), Office of Infrastructure, including the Honourable Members of the Lagos House of Assembly and security agencies.

Reacting, Igbokwe, who is a patron of the market, said the action, carried out by the Lagos State government on Thursday, held him in a chokehold.

He shared on Facebook, "What is happening in ASPAMDA Trade Fair Complex, Lagos? If a writer is silent, he is lying. This one choke me ooooo. I am asking this question because I am among the 3 Patrons of ASPAMDA INTERNATIONAL MARKET, namely HE Peter Obi, Myself and the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah. Bar Veronica Ndanusa, the Executive Director / CEO, Trade Fair, was just standing there and speechless—Oro pe si je.

"The Executive Director/ CEO Trade Fair Complex, Lagos, Barrister Veronica Ndanusa, could not handle what happened in ASPAMDA today. I am stunned into disbelief. Eru ba mi ooooo."
