Former Barcelona striker, Gary Lineker has apologised to Galatasaray striker, Victor Osimhen for questioning his character in the past.
Lineker said he was ‘sorry’ for his comments after Osimhen’s impressive display in Galatasaray’s 1-0 UEFA Champions League win against Liverpool a few days ago.
Recall that Osimhen, who was named Man of the Match against Liverpool in midweek, scored the only goal as Galatasaray defeated the Premier League champions at the RAMS Park.
Following the game, Lineker retracted his earlier comments made on Osimhen after the Nigerian signed a four-year deal with Galatasaray in the summer transfer window.
“I need to apologise to Victor Osimhen. I remember that I intimated that he goes missing sometimes, and I believe that is completely not the case,” Lineker said on his The Rest is Football podcast with Micah Richards and Alan Shearer.
“So, Victor, if you are listening, I’m sorry about that. You should not spread rumours about these things, so my bad on that.”
Osimhen will now hope to lead Galatasaray to victory when they face Besiktas in the Turkish Super Lig this weekend.
