Real Madrid record signing Yan Diomande has dismissed claims that suggest he is under pressure to justify his massive record-breaking transfer fee.
The 19-year-old joined Los Blancos from RB Leipzig in a deal worth up to €140m (£121m), including add-ons, this summer.
Madrid are expected to pay an initial guaranteed fee of around €125m (£108m), with add-ons that could push the total package to €140m.
The young winger has become the most expensive African signing in history, surpassing the likes of Nicolas Pepe and Victor Osimhen.
Diomande also smashed the record as the most expensive signing in Real Madrid's history, beating the transfer records of the likes of Jude Bellingham, Eden Hazard, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Despite his huge transfer fee, the Ivorian international insists he feels no pressure.
“They spent a lot of money because they believe in me; why will I be scared?, Diomande said as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
“I’m not scared; I feel no pressure. I will do what I do, and God will do the rest,” he added.
The highly rated winger also expressed great admiration and commitment to Jose Mourihno, saying he is ready to give everything for the Portuguese tactician.
“When you play for José Mourinho, you want to DIE for him. I am ready to die for him,” Diomande added.
