Prof. Pat Utomi, a leader within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has asserted that he is better positioned to lead Nigeria than President Bola Tinubu and other prominent opposition figures ahead of the 2027 elections.

This is as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, prepare to contest the Presidency against Tinubu.

Speaking on Politics Today, Utomi reflected on his political career, coalition negotiations, and what he perceives as Nigeria’s worsening democratic and governance crisis.

He emphasised that his unwavering commitment to principled politics and consistent party loyalty distinguish him from other candidates.

“Has it ever occurred to you that I am more qualified than all of them — including Bola Tinubu — in terms of preparation to lead Nigeria? To be honest, I have never left the ADC since 2007,” Utomi said.
