I'm a Trump fan but want him to lose in November - Akin Alabi

Honorable Akin Alabi of the Federal House of Representatives has expressed desire to see Donald Trump lose in the November presidential election in the US.

Akin Alabi stated this in reaction to the visa ban placed on Nigeria and five other countries for not meeting up to the security and information sharing standard of the US.

He tweeted: "I’m a Trump fan (one of my favourite people in the world) but anything against my countrymen is against me personally. I hope he loses in November".

A Twitter user reacted to his tweet by pointing out that the visa ban by Trump is only a way of putting his country first with nothing against Nigeria.

In response, Akin Alabi wrote:

"I really don’t think not banning Nigeria means he is not putting his country first. Meanwhile, of course he can put his country first. It doesn’t mean everyone must like that. I put my countrymen first. Especially my countrymen making a honest living there who want to regularize".

He went on to make a case for Nigerians with honest means of livelihood in America saying:

"A lot of my countrymen are in America, making a honest living, paying tax and have plans to regularize their papers. If you have a brother in that situation, you won’t say this".

On the coming US Presidential Election, Akin Alabi expressed his desire to see Trump lose.

"He’s the favourite no doubt. Nothing wrong with wishing another party wins. Is there anything wrong with it?", he concluded.
