Renowned producer and music executive Sarz has raised concerns about how poor infrastructure, particularly unstable electricity, continues to hinder Nigeria’s creative industry.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Afropolitan Podcast, the 36-year-old producer said the lack of steady power supply often disrupts moments of inspiration, leading to wasted potential.
According to him, despite being born and raised in Nigeria, he has never experienced 24 hours of uninterrupted electricity. He explained that there are times he feels inspired to create music, only to be held back by power outages or fuel scarcity needed to run generators.
Sarz noted that creativity requires mental readiness, and when infrastructure fails at the moment inspiration strikes, it becomes a major setback. He stressed that for Nigeria’s entertainment industry to reach its full potential, reliable infrastructure must be prioritised.
