First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has urged Nigerian women to take up farming to help increase food production in the country.
On Saturday, Mrs. Tinubu shared a photo of herself tending to her garden on Twitter, where she wrote, “Earlier today, I was at my garden to tend to it and water my plants myself. I have planted seven different vegetables.”
She further encouraged women to participate in the #EveryHomeAGarden competition, emphasizing the importance of farming and food production during these challenging economic times.
Mrs. Tinubu's call comes at a time when the country is grappling with significant economic hardship, leading to food prices soaring by over 100 percent since President Bola Tinubu took office in May 2023.

#EveryHomeAGarden competition by the Renewed Hope Initiative, RHI is not just a competition. It aims to inculcate the habit of farming and food production into the society right from the family unit and promote eating healthy foods.
