I don't want my son to be a musician- Obesere

Nigerian singer, Abass Akande also known as Obesere has revealed that he does not want his son to be a musician.

He made this revelation in an exclusive interview with MyNigeria.com where he spoke about the buzz he has been getting over his monster hit, ‘Egungun Be Careful, which was recorded 18 years ago.

Speaking to our correspondent about one of his children's decision to tow his path, he explained that he was not ready to grant his child his blessings because his academics was paramount. He, however, refused to give the name of his child.

Obesere's words: "I have seen one of my children that wants to be a musician but I have not given him the support yet because I want him to face his education. I don't want to give his name."

Giving more details about the people he was grooming to take over his music dynasty, he mentioned Lekan his son. However, he noted that Lekan was a promoter and singer. He also singled out Fatai Valentine as another person he was in full support of his career.

"I have a brother Fatai Valentine, singing Fuji as well. My first son is a promoter- he is based in Dublin," he stated.

Obesere hinted that the single between himself and Zlatan was coming in the next three days. Who would shoot the video was an issue on the ground for further deliberations, though the singer said the visuals should be out on Monday.

The highly famed Fuji musician was grateful to God for his renowned success, sighting God as the reason for his fame. "It is only God that made this song famous, We believe God stamped everything," the fuji artiste said.
