Nollywood actress Titilola Ajayi has issued a clarification following backlash over remarks made in a recent viral interview. The actress stated that her position was misunderstood, noting that she does not endorse domestic violence in any form. According to her, the point she attempted to make was that conflicts in relationships often have underlying causes, not that violence is ever justified.
She told Potpourri: “I want to make it absolutely clear that I do not support domestic violence under any circumstances. My comment in that interview was taken out of context, and it is important for me to correct that impression. What I meant was that disagreements in relationships usually have root causes that need to be addressed early, so they do not escalate. At no point did I suggest that violence is acceptable or excusable. I believe strongly in communication, mutual respect, and walking away from situations that threaten one’s safety. No one deserves to be harmed, and I stand firmly against any act of abuse.”
Debunking the perception that she is proud, the Mr. and Mrs Parker actress said: “People misconstrue what they don’t understand. I am a reserved person and people sometimes misinterpret my reserved personality for pride. I am very approachable and empathetic, and I always try to listen and understand before forming judgments. My goal is to use my platform responsibly, promote healthy relationships, and encourage open dialogue on issues that matter.”
On her plans for 2026, she said “By God’s grace, my team and I will be creating relatable, high-quality content that will leave you amazed. It’s going to be a refreshing experience—just wait and see.”
