I did not know it was my husband that was shot in the video I watched – Wife of Abeokuta protest stray bullet victim

Taiwo Micheal, the wife of Micheal Gabriel, the man who was shot by a stray bullet during a protest in Ogun State, narrates how she found out her husband was shot.

Gabriel Michael was hit by a stray bullet on Tuesday as protest erupted in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

In the trending video, Gabriel was seen grabbing he bloodied right arm and running.

He was seen collapsing into a deep gutter as people around carried him out and laid him on the road.

Initially, information has it that he died as a result of the injuries sustained and loss of blood but by the next morning, it was gathered that he survived.

The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun also paid the injured Gabriel a visit at the Federal Medical Centre and pictures which was made public after the visit reinforced that he was alive and was not dead as earlier rumoured.

Taiwo, who is a fashion designer, revealed that at first when she saw the video online, she didn’t realise it was her husband until she started receiving calls from people asking if she had heard what happened.

After she realised the man in the video was her husband, she said she was later informed that her husband had been taken to the Federal Medical Centre in Abeokuta.

A friend to Gabriel, Monsuru Kushimo, said that they both went out to withdraw unknowing to them that there was a protest going on.

Kushimo added that he sought shelter in a house closeby until the riot subsided not knowing that his friend had been hit by a stray bullet.

He was later informed that his friend was been taken to the General hospital but found out that he was taken to FMC.

Taiwo asks Nigerians to come to the aid of both her children and her hospitalised husband.
