Axed Deputy Edo State Governor, Phillip Shaibu has been reinstated.
This follows a judgment by the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Wednesday that nullified Shaibu’s impeachment.
His reinstatement was ordered by Justice James Omotosho because the Edo State House of Assembly failed to comply with due process in the impeachment.
In his initial reaction, Shaibu said his prayers have been as a result of prayers offered by Nigerians.
The embattled Deputy Governor dedicated his victory to God, stressing that it wouldn’t have been possible without the prayers of concerned Nigerians.
He said, “I want to thank Justice James Omotosho for his courage, he has restored the confidence that truly, the judiciary is the last hope of a common man and as a common person, justice has been done.
“Many Nigerians told me that they were praying for me. I want to tell them that God has answered our prayers. I dedicate this to God. I trust God that this judgement has reaffirmed the foundation of democracy in Nigeria”.
