'I can deliver any movie role' - Jigan

Nollywood actor, Abimbola Kazeem aka Jigan has boasted that he can play any role in a movie.

In a chat with The Nation, Jigan, who once revealed his disability was caused by wrong vaccination, said since the film industry is dubbed as make-believe, nothing is impossible.

“I dislike typecasting. As an actor, you should be able to handle any role given to you by producers. This is because it is a make-believe world, there’s no role I cannot play. It depends on the script and director,” the actor said.

Despite making a strong strike as a comic actor, the thespian is still stuck on going back to his music career.

“Maybe, when I act for some time, I can then go back to my music career. Music has always been part of me. Though, those days, I was fed up with promoting my songs for years. I waited before I delved into acting in 2009.

“Luckily, it is still the same entertainment business where music and acting go together but I’m just wary about my fans. I don’t want to divide or confuse them because most of them love me as an actor and coming back to music might cause some confusion. But, for those who still recognise me as a singer, I appreciate them too.”

Known for his popular slangs ‘sho mo age mi’ (do you know my age) which trended on social media a year ago, Jigan opened up that the idea came like a miracle.

“The slang just came to me like a dream. I still don’t believe it will go viral because I’ve been making different skits. The slang brought about some colleagues who always fake their birthday. So, I was like you are claiming to be older than others, do you know my age?

“In the Yoruba film sector, we know ourselves. We know some people add to their age and we also have colleagues that reduce their age. So, that was how their idea came. I just put it into a skit and it went viral.”
