Ireti Kingbe, Senator-elect of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has said that she believes in the Obidient Movement.

Speaking in an interview with Arise Television, she noted that she thinks Nigeria needs the movement and it is one she intends to build in Abuja.

The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Ireti Kinigbe as the winner of the 2023 Senatorial election in Abuja.

Ireti scored 202,175 votes to emerge as the winner while Philip Aduda of the PDP came second with 100,544 votes. Angulu Dobi of the APC placed third with 78,905 votes.

Sharing her experience of the just concluded election held on February 25, Ireti applauded the Obidient Movement saying that the FCT is completely Obidients.

She added that the Obidients approached her to be their Senator because they believed I possess and abide by the same ideals as they do.

"No doubt the Obidient Movement helped me to me, All of it helped me to win, It is a combination of many factors, Abuja was completely Obidients. From the beginning it was. And I must say the Obidient Movement also came to look for me to be their Senatorial candidate. So, I must have reflected some of their ideals or they wouldn't have done so.

I believe in the movement and I think Nigeria needs it. Whether we can achieve everything in 2023, that needs to be seen but it is a movement that will continue and one that I intend to build and continue to build in the FCT."
