The presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, said politicians, including himself, are Nigeria's problem.

He urged Nigerians not to relent in praying for politicians so God can touch their hearts.

Obi made the appeal while addressing the congregation at Koinonia Global Miracle Service.

“The only thing I can ask all of you who are gathered here is that you remember us, the politicians, in your prayers. We're the problem of the country.

"There is nothing wrong with Nigeria; what is wrong in Nigeria is the leadership, the politicians God created in this country. Always remember us in your prayers. Let God touch our hearts to use public money for public good,” he said.

Obi also called on politicians to stop diverting public funds, saying such practices contribute to the hardship faced by Nigerians.

“Let God touch our hearts to use public money for public good. Let God touch us to stop stealing. That is why people are suffering here,” he said.

According to him, Nigeria could make significant progress if its wealth were properly invested in ways that improve citizens’ lives.

“If we use the wealth of this nation and invest it, it will go a long way. So remember us in your prayers,” he added.
