'I am surprised I didn't get 100% in Anambra' - Peter Obi replies Reno Omokri's rigging allegation

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party has responded to allegations by Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide that he rigged the elections in the southeast, especially in Anambra.

Obi, a former governor of Anambra responded to the allegations when he appeared as a guest on Arise TV.

Recall that Omokri had described Peter Obi as the rigger-in-chief of the presidential election adding that he rigged the election unintelligently.

Peter Obi said: "I have never and I will never ask anybody to add one vote for me that doesn't rightfully belong to me. I have never paid everyone to never rig for me. Go and ask the police, INEC. They are referees and they have been asked to do their job."

"Reno has forgotten that in 2019, PDP had their highest vote in Anambra. Infact, I am surprised I didn't get 100% in Anambra."

Mr Obi polled a total of 584,621 votes (over 90 percent of the votes cast) to defeat Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who came a distant second with 9,036 votes, the Nation newspaper reported.

Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) came fourth in the election with 5,111 votes while Peter Umeadi, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), was third with 7,388 votes.

Mr Obi is a former governor of Anambra State while the state is currently governed by Charles Soludo of APGA.

The candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Malik Ado-Ibrahim, garnered 1,997 votes to come fifth in the presidential election.

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, managed to pick the sixth position with a total of 1,967 votes.
