I am fully behind Obi’s mandate; I don’t succumb to withdrawal of election petition – Lamidi Apapa

Lamidi Apapa, the factional leader of the Labour Party has said that he is fully behind Peter Obi reclaiming his mandate at the Election Tribunal.

According to him, he does not succumb to the withdrawal of the election petition as claimed by the other faction.

It was reported that Lamidi Apapa had sent letters to the election tribunal to withdraw the cases.

However, Apapa denied the allegations, adding that he only asked the lawyers to brief him on the ongoing cases as the leader of the party.

He challenged the other faction to provide proof of the letter he had written to withdraw the cases in court.

The Labour Party has been faced with leadership crisis following its lose at the 2023 presidential election.

Peter Obi who is attempting to reclaim his mandate in court, is challenging the outcome of the results which produced Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress winner of the 2023 presidential election.

After the court ordered Julius Abure, to stop parading himself as the leader of the party over allegations of anti-party activities.

However, Lamidi Apapa assumed the role of the leader of the party which led to the division of the Labour Party.

Both Abure-led faction and Apapa-led faction are at loggerheads over leadership of the party.
