Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi has spoken publicly for the first time about the rape allegations brought against him in France.
The Moroccan international has denied any wrongdoing, stating he is not guilty of the accusations.
The Nanterre prosecutor’s office has recently called for a trial regarding the alleged incident, which occurred in 2023.
“I am calm. Being falsely accused is horrible, unfair—I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I know the truth will come out,” Hakimi told Foot Africa.
“I have nothing to blame myself for, and those who know me are aware of that.
“I remain composed and focus on the important things in my life, especially family and football. As I said, the truth will come out.”
Hakimi, who had a stellar campaign with PSG last season, is alleged to have invited a 24-year-old woman to his home in the Paris suburb of Boulogne-Billancourt while his wife and children were away on holiday.
