Social media users have resurfaced an old video allegedly showing Afrobeats star Davido and members of his crew confronting and physically assaulting a young man.

The clip began circulating shortly after Davido publicly condemned a viral bullying incident involving students at a secondary school in Edo State.

Reacting to the disturbing footage of the students attacking a fellow pupil in a dormitory, the singer described the perpetrators as “fucking animals,” expressing outrage over the violence.

However, shortly after his reaction went viral, some netizens dug up an older video they claim shows Davido and his associates severely assaulting a defenseless young man.

Critics argued that the resurfaced footage contradicts his strong condemnation of bullying.

One user, identified as Toluwase_x, accused the singer of hypocrisy, suggesting that Davido had previously been linked to violent incidents involving people around him.

In response to the controversy, some commenters also referenced past celebrity disputes in Nigeria’s entertainment scene.

Among the incidents mentioned was the widely reported 2017 hotel assault on Mr. 2Kay, which occurred after a concert headlined by Burna Boy in Lagos.

The case generated significant media attention at the time and led to police investigations.

The resurfaced video has since fueled a heated debate on social media, with some defending Davido’s stance against bullying while others insist that public figures should also address past controversies associated with them.
